Why was it that at the end of the movie I was stuck to my seat and unable to move or form any coherent thoughts in my mind other than, "WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"?
I won't give away anything about the movie, but I will say that it was so incredible I almost peed my pants. I'm not easily impressed by movies (for example, Transformers 2 made me want to slaughter puppies and Matrix 2 and 3 still makes me want to ram my face into a brick wall), so it was a shock to ME that I was so shocked by how awesome District 9 was. Yes, I was shocked to be shocked. That my friends, should say a lot. I mean. Wow. I've never felt such a load of conflicting emotions to such a degree in any movie. I was terrified, thrilled, excited, happy, and disgusted AND it was great. I mean, you watch that movie and you're literally IN the movie. So yes, 2009 has seen its movie of the year (most likely one of the best movies ever made). I desperately plead with you Deviantart folks to go see this movie! It's so good, it deserves to make millions off of us movie-goers. XD
OH BUT LET'S NOT LEAVE OUT PONYO! Yes yes! District 9 and Ponyo are completely different movies, so I have the right to say that Ponyo, in its own movie-genre, was incredibly great. I love Hayao Miyazaki's work and hearing that one of his movies was on the big screen (and in English) was very thrilling!!! It's an adorable movie that you'll just feel really happy watching. It's just... adorable and so very beautifully made. The artwork and detail in every frame is so inspiring!
My boyfriend and I went to see both Ponyo and District 9 so we're happy to have managed 2 awesome/memorable movies in a row!

And for you movie-goers, if you want to feel loved and warm and mushy inside, with a sudden urge to eat loads of ramen I strongly discourage you from seeing District 9. Go see Ponyo for that!!!
But if you want to leave the theatres with a shocked, unbelieving, and thrilled feeling along with a slight burning sensation in your eyes from having forgotten to blink, than please see District 9. =]
